These Korda Dark Matter Balancing Weights are an industry first and have been designed to neatly fit over the barrel of a size 11 swivel, which makes them ideal for popular end tackle set-ups up such as spinner rigs or Ronnie rigs, naked chod rigs, and hinged stiff rigs - as well as being used at the hook end of your rig, they can also be added to the barrel of the size 11 ring swivel that is on your leader or main line when fishing chods, and enable you to ensure your hook bait balances as you want it to.

Korda Balancing Weights are made from pure Tungsten

The DM Balancing Weights are made from pure Tungsten, with nothing else added to them - unlike Tungsten filled rubber products, so the same size is much heavier - which means that for their size they are as heavy as is possible in weights of this type.

Tungsten is around 1.7 times heavier than lead, so they are much smaller than using the equivalent weight of lead – not that you could anyway in the UK given the laws relating to the use of lead fishing weights within a certain size range. This high weight ratio to mass makes your final rig neater and the very hard material ensures that the Dark Matter Balancing Weights won't come off.

This metal is also incredibly hard, so once it is in place it won't come off during the cast, or even if nuisance species such as crayfish get hold of it, which is ideal for anglers fishing waters with these invasive species – when using any sort of Tungsten, crayfish will definitely try to play around with it, and that is likely down to it either being mistaken for a food item, or possibly even that it has absorbed the smell of bait from your hands or a hook bait glug.

These Korda Dark Matter Balancing Weights are manufactured to an incredibly high tolerance, meaning that they will precisely fit over the swivel barrel, provide the weight needed to balance most pop ups, are a neat alternative to putty, and are easy to interchange, without being too fiddly.

They have a higher tolerance than the swivel barrels, so in some cases they may be a slightly tight fit, but that is easily remedied by using the jaws of a Krimp Tool to push the weight into place, and it can be easily forced onto the barrel to achieve the necessary fit. Due to how hard the material is they can't be forced onto oversized barrels.

Various different sizes are available

To allow you to balance your rigs just how you want, the Korda Dark Matter Balancing Weights come in a variety of different sizes and are quickly interchangeable on your chosen rig.

Each Tungsten weight is laser etched with the size on it, so you will always know exactly which one you are adding to your rigs.

They come in hard plastic pots with a sliding lid, which is easy to open and to tip a weight out onto your hand, but won’t accidentally spill out in your tackle box or Tackle Safe, and will neatly fit into any of our terminal tackle storage boxes.

Each box contains 15 weights, with a choice of 0.30g, 0.35g, 0.40g, 0.45g, and 0.50g, plus there is a mixed pack as well that contains three weights of each size.
