Jamie Londers - Goo Tips
Baiting Carp Beginner
Since its launch, the Goo has made a truly massive impact on anglers catch results from all over the world. Used to great success by both pleasure anglers and big carp hunters alike, we are constantly receiving reports of fish that have been caught, or sessions that have been turned on their heads, simply by implementing the Goo. Here are four top tips for making the most of the incredible new editions to the impressive range of Goo’s..
Combine flavours.
Don’t stick to one flavour, try combining them to create your own custom blend for a personal edge. All the Goo’s in the range offer different levels of acidity or alkalinity and these will alter the PH of the water, something that has been scientifically proven to alert fish’s senses and trigger positive feeding responses in carp. Or to put it more simply, they find it almost impossible to resist!
The Smokes offer a dense viscosity that will sink through the water column and the lighter Supremes will rise, sending a host of wonderful attraction through the water column, and drawing fish down to your hook-bait from the upper layers – Pulling power at its very best.
Bake it on.
Use the thicker Smokes to coat your hook baits, and then leave them in the sun to bake and form a crust. Once in the water, this layer of attraction will slowly break down, gradually leaking attraction, creating a long-lasting cloud of unrivalled attraction around the orbit of the bait.
Due to the slowed rate of leakage, this tactic is being regularly implemented to great effect by some of our most successful zig anglers. The idea is that rather than cast a bait out with a layer of Goo on it, which will mostly disperse on impact, you’re drying it to the outside of the bait so that it will easily withstand the force of a cast, and then disperse gradually once in position.
Use PVA to create the ULTIMATE attractor package.
The Goo is a PVA friendly liquid, this is a huge plus point and it opens a whole new world of possibilities. It allows you to make a bag or stick mix with high levels of liquid attraction, which is one of the finest ways to apply taste and smell. The solubility of the Goo, combined with it’s PVA friendly make up means the world really is your oyster. Take even further advantage of the PVA friendly properties by applying a stripe of neat Goo directly to your bags or hook-baits before casting out, to further boost attraction.
Use the nozzle to inject.
Time is very precious, and if you want the simplest route to create an irresistible parcel of flavour and attraction, look no further than the bottle itself - a huge boost of goodness is only a squeeze away. Having a concentration of Goo directly around your hook-bait will form a cloud of high-level attraction, adding both a visual element, in the from the coloured halo, and an unrivalled concentration of some of the finest tastes and smells to have ever hit the bait scene. A proven and winning tactic.
