Exciting new products for April!

The Korda Basix range is all about providing functional products at a price which makes them affordable for anybody, and there are two exciting new items out in your local tackle shop now.

Korda Basix Boom

The stiff Boom material within the main Korda tackle range has been one of our best sellers now for quite a few years and lends itself to the construction of many of the popular rigs that anglers are using these days, such as the spinner/Ronnie or combi rigs, such as Darrell Peck’s multi combi rig.

This clear version has been developed specifically for the Basix range, and combines a fluorocarbon material which has the stiffness to make it ideal for creating boom sections for all sorts of rigs, as well as having extremely low visibility in water thanks to its refractive index.

These booms not only help prevent the rig from tangling, but also help it to reset if it does get picked up by a carp and ejected, so you know that it is always fishing effectively.

Basic Boom is perfect for use with the Korda Krimps (0.6mm for the 25lb; 0.7mm for the 35lb), but can also be knotted and comes in a choice of 25lb or 35lb breaking strains, with 15m on a spool.

Korda Basix Kurv

This hook pattern is identical to our incredibly popular Korda Kurv hook, in terms of the shape, but is made from a stronger ‘X’ gauge of wire, and has a different finish to it – black nickel.

The Basix Kurv joins the existing Basix Wide Gape, which has been very popular since its launch, and offers users of the Basix range a completely different shape of hook to the wide gape style one which has been available up to now.

It is a very aggressive shape of hook, with a curved shank and in-turned eye, which naturally makes it want to flip over when inside a fishes mouth, even without the addition of any sort of Kicker or shrink tubing, and the straight point increases the chances of it taking a hold.

It can be used with all sorts of different rigs, including the popular spinner rig – so will great in conjunction with the new Basix Boom – and IQ D-rigs, and due to its thicker gauge and increased strength, it is ideal for use across the rest of Europe, as well as in the UK.

Barbed and barbless versions are available, in sizes 2, 4, 6, and 8, with ten hooks in a packet, and at a very affordable price.

New Goos

We also have three new exciting flavours of Goo, from Kiana Carp, which have proven to be incredibly effective during testing and are guaranteed to give your hookbaits – or whatever else you add it to, such as spod mixes or pellets – a boost of attraction!

These Goos are all PVA friendly and can be added to your hookbaits, spod mixes, PVA bags and similar to give them a boost. Once in the water, Goo gradually disperses through the layers, releasing a cloud of attraction to get the attention of carp and help them to home in on your rig.

When used as a soak for hookbaits, such as pop-ups or wafters, the Goo will soak right into the core of the bait if left in it for long enough – we recommend keeping your baits in one of our Infuza pots and regularly shaking them and adding more Goo as needed, as it gets soaked into the bait. This attraction then gradually leaks out over time once it is in the water.

Strawberry Supreme Kiana Carp Goo

When it comes to carp bait flavours, strawberry is a timeless classic which is every bit as effective today, so it made perfect sense to add it to the Goo range.

The Strawberry Supreme Goo combines the natural berry flavour of strawberry, with its mouthwatering aroma and vibrant candy-like sweetness, with creamy dessert-like undertones, to create an irresistible attractor, which is red in colour.

It smells just like a punnet of ripe, juicy strawberries, and is deadly either on its own, or when combined with other fruity or sweet Goos.

Sriracha Supreme Kiana Carp Goo

It was only a matter of time before a Sriracha version of the Goo was released, as it has long been a popular choice of attractor for Danny Fairbrass, and he uses it in many of his bait mixes.

Chilli has always been a popular choice for carp baits, and this orange coloured Sriracha Supreme Goo is based on the famous Thai chill sauce, combing fiery chill heat with a hint of garlic and sweetness, which gives it a totally different flavour profile to other chill-based bait attractors out there.

Shellfish Supreme Kiana Carp Goo

For many years marine based attractors have been at the forefront of carp fishing baits, with shellfish, crustacean and fishmeal attractors proving their worth over time.

Shellfish is a rich source of natural amino acids and has a track record of triggering aggressive feeding responses from carp, and hence why they are found in so many of the baits that we use.

This Shellfish Goo is yellow in colour and was inspired by the long-standing favourite Goo, Fruits de Mer, but takes that to another level with a deeper, more concentrated shellfish aroma which will send out a strong food signal to fish and trigger their natural instinct to feed.
