Korda Kable Ready Tied Leadcore Leaders

Leadcore has been a popular choice of leader for many years and is a great choice for concealing your line close to your rig.

Originally leadcore was used in fly fishing as a way of making a fly sink quickly where no other weight was used on the line, prior to being adopted by carp anglers and used as a way of pinning their line to the lakebed, to stop carp bumping into or spotting it so easily.

As the name suggests, it has a heavy core, which ensures that it sinks rapidly, and is encased in a woven braid, which provides the strength needed to use it as a leader material.

Fast-sinking and supple

Not only does our Korda Kable Leadcore sink very fast, but it is also very limp and supple, so that it will also closely follow the contours of the lake bed, which is especially important where it is uneven and you don’t want something sticking up off of the bottom.

Korda Kable has a very tough braided outer, with a breaking strain of well in excess of 50lb, which makes it ideal for use in snaggy or weedy conditions, as it won’t cut easily.

Easy to splice

Plus, the braid has a very tight weave, so that it won’t start to come apart, even after repeated use. This also ensures that it splices very well – using the Korda Splicing Needle which is purpose designed for the job - to give a very neat attachment, or to form a loop, and is very strong and won’t let you down.

There is no need to use a very long leadcore leader, and often that can actually be a disadvantage, as it can be harder to ensure the whole leader is actually on the bottom (especially if fishing a tighter line) and it will also cut down your casting distance – both by reducing your ability to compress the rod and also the drag that is created when it travels through the air. Usually a metre is plenty enough to ensure that carp near to your rig don’t encounter your main line, and for some types of fishing even shorter than that is fine.

Tough and abrasion resistant

As well as being fast-sinking and very tough, it is also a good option to help avoid tangles when casting, plus it is great for solid bag fishing as you can have spare ones tied up on spare leaders and quickly attach them to your line.

You can of course splice your own leadcore leaders using our Kable Leadcore, which is sold on 7m or 25m spools, plus all the separate components, but if you aren’t confident in doing so, or just prefer to save the hassle, then there is a range of Kable leaders that offer all of the different lead set-up options that you would potentially want to use.

Korda Kable Leadcore Leader Heli-Safe

This leader is ready to use straight out of the packet and is ideal for any situation where you want to fish safe helicopter rigs and be able to drop the lead when you need to.

It is constructed using a Mini Heli-Safe System, which allows the lead to eject, plus the Korda No-Trace Safety System which will allow the hook link to safely detach from the leader should your line break.

The Kable Leadcore Leader Heli-Safe is ideal for both conventional hook lengths as well as chod rigs – the top bead can be adjusted so that it ends up your chosen distance away from the lead – and is available in 1m or 50cm versions, and in a choice of Gravel Brown or Weed/Silt, and with two complete set-ups in a pack. All you have to do is add your hook link to the QC ring swivel – plus a Dark Matter Anti Tangle Sleeve – and attach the leader to your main line, and you’re ready to cast out.

Korda Kable Leadcore Leader Heli

In situations where you don’t need to drop the lead, the Kable Leadcore Leader Heli is the perfect choice, plus it is safe as the hook link can easily detach in the event of a line breakage, thanks to the No-Trace Safety System that comes already set up on it.

This system can be adjusted to anywhere along the length of the leader, so is perfect whether you are fishing with chods, or with more conventional set-us such as a spinner or Ronnie rig. All you need to do is tie on your choice of rig and you are ready to – it comes with a ring swivel already attached, but this can easily be swapped for your own ring swivel if you already have your hook lengths attached to one.

Simply tie on the leader and add a lead of your choice to the Kwik Link, which is covered with a Helicopter Sleeve. You get three leaders in a pack, in a choice of Gravel Brown or Weed/Silt, and it is 1m long.

Korda Kable Leadcore Leader Hybrid Lead Clip Ring Swivel

The Hybrid Lead Clip is the perfect choice when using this type of lead set-up with a leader, as the clip is fixed and ensures that the lead will be ejected when you need it to be – how easily it ejects depends on how far the tail rubber is pushed on.

This version features a ring swivel and is perfect for any rig where you want some movement at the lead end of your hook link, which can be tied directly to the ring, or crimped on to it when using stiff materials such as Boom.

All you need to do is attach the Kable Leadcore Leader Hybrid Lead Clip Ring Swivel to your line, via the spliced loop, and add your choice of lead. It comes in 1m and 50cm versions, in a choice of Weed/Silt or Gravel Brown, and you get three leaders in a pack.

Korda Kable Leadcore Leader Hybrid Lead Clip QC Swivel

This QC swivel version of our Hybrid Lead Clip leader allows you to quickly change any hook length that has a loop tied in the end of it, and that is securely held in place with a Dark Matter Anti-Tangle Sleeve (not supplied).

The Kable Leadcore Leader Hybrid Lead Clip QC Swivel is perfect in situations where you don’t want a hinge or movement at the lead end of your rig, such as when using spinner or Ronnie rigs, and want the freedom to be able to quickly change rig and get it back out into the lake.

The Hybrid Lead Clip is fixed in place to ensure that the lead will easily eject when you need it to, such as if it becomes snagged. Simply tie on the leader and add a lead of your choice.

There is a choice Gravel Brown or Weed/Silt coloured leader and Hybrid clip, and they come in 1m or 50cm versions, with three in a pack.

Korda Kable Leadcore Leader QC Swivel

These versatile leaders come with just a size 8 QC swivel attached and allow you to add whatever type of lead set-up you prefer.

This leader can be used with inline leads, running rigs, and even standard lead clips, and gives you the freedom to quickly change the rig. All you need to do is add your lead system, tie it to your main line, clip on your rig and cover it with an Anti-Tangle Sleeve (not supplied) and you are ready to cast out and catch a carp.

There is a choice of three 50cm or 1m Kable Leadcore Leader QC Swivel leaders in a pack, and either Weed Green or Gravel Brown colour.

If you want to add your own lead system to a pre-tied Kable leader, then this one is ideal as it comes with just a size 8 ring swivel spliced onto the end of it.

This leader can be used with inline leads, running set-ups, or standard lead clips, and is ideal if you want to use it with a rig that requires some sort of hinge at the swivel end, as the hook link can be tied or crimped directly to the rings.
