Drykore MK2 Jacket and Over Trousers

The original Korda Drykore clothing has been a huge success and our customers love the design of the jackets and over trousers which form this range.

But we are always striving to make our products even better, and having got hold of a material that was even more waterproof and breathable than the original Drykore fabric, we just had to incorporate it into this clothing, which has resulted in the Korda Drykore MK2.

The actual tailoring found on both the jacket and over trousers has remained unchanged, as have all the angler-friendly features that made this waterproof clothing so popular, but now you will still even drier and more comfortable, whatever the weather throws at you.

Korda Drykore MK2 is even more waterproof and windproof

The new material is even more waterproof than the old one, boasting a hydrostatic head of 20,000mm, versus the 15,000mm found on the original one, and this makes it even better at keeping out any moisture.

The taped and sealed seams ensure that no water can get through, however extreme the weather conditions are.

This hydrophilic internal membrane is not only brilliant at keeping out rain, or even snow, but also has exceptional wind blocking qualities and will stop freezing cold draughts from finding their way through your outer garments.

Exceptional breathability thanks to a high tech woven material

When it comes to waterproof clothing like jackets and trousers, it isn’t just water getting through from the outside that you need to worry about, but also sweat potentially causing your clothes to become wet underneath which will quickly make you feel cold and uncomfortable.

The new Drykore material being used also has exceptional breathability and a significantly higher rating than the original at 20,000g/m2  versus 15,000g/m2  in terms of WVT, which stands for water vapour transmission and basically measures how likely you are to sweat whilst wearing a garment and how well it wicks away any moisture from your skin.

This makes the Drykore Jacket MK2 and Drykore Over Trousers MK2 perfect for any time of the year and can pretty much be worn over the top of anything, as long as you’ve chosen a suitable size. So whether you are caught out in a summer shower and wearing just shorts and t-shirt underneath, or are out in a snow blizzard in the depths of winter with several under layers, you will still feel comfortable and your body temperature will be regulated.

More robust but also environmentally friendly

The fabric is also more robust and durable, which will ensure that it lasts longer and is even more suitable for constant use out on the bank in all conditions.  

The lightweight outer shell constructed from the MK2 fabric is slightly heavier than the original for this reason, at 185gsm versus 160gsm, but you won't even notice that when you have it on, and it is worth the extra weight for something that is that much harder wearing.

Not only is this fabric even more practical for the great outdoors, but at the same time it is also good for the environment, which as anglers is something that we care about a lot, as we have opted to use recycled polyester, instead of the virgin polyester that features in the original Drykore clothing.

A range of sizes and different colours

The jackets are available in a choice of Dark Kamo or Dark Olive colours, whilst the trousers come in Dark Olive.

Both are available in sizes from small to 4XL.

Korda Drykore Jacket MK2

There are plenty of other good reasons for owning one of these jackets, aside from them now being even more waterproof, windproof, and breathable.

This is a very comfortable jacket to wear when fishing, thanks to the material having sufficient stretch to allow plenty of freedom of movement for activities such as playing fish and casting.

Whilst still being tailored to provide a good fit to your body, thus ensuring that draughts are kept out as much as possible, and being lightweight enough that you hardly even notice that you’re wearing it.

Your lower back stays well protected, even when bending over to deal with a fish, as the back of the Drykore Jacket MK2 is longer than the front, and so provides good coverage of your torso, whatever position you are in.

A multi adjustable hood, with a toggle, allows you to adjust it so it is just right for your head, and any headwear you might have on underneath, and a rigid peak ensures that water runs off of the sides rather than dripping down in your face.

One area where jackets can sometimes be uncomfortable is at the top of the zip where it brushes against your chin or neck, and can catch on any stubble, so we have added a special soft-touch flap to prevent that and meaning you can comfortably have it zipped right up to keep out the cold.

An issue that anglers can suffer from with waterproof jackets is rain running down their sleeves, especially when raising their arms to cast or picking up a rod in the rain, but thanks to the Velcro cuffs on the sleeves, you can adjust them to prevent that happening, whilst still feeling comfortable around your wrists.

There is no shortage of storage space either, thanks to the two large outer pockets, which have zips that are designed to keep the contents dry, plus inner zipped pockets for valuables such as your car keys.

The main zip is a two way design and is high quality, so it is designed to last and withstand things such as mud or fish slime, plus won’t let water through.

Korda Drykore Over Trousers MK2

As the name suggests, these trousers are designed to be worn comfortably over other items of clothing, whether that be several layers in the winter or a pair of shorts during a summer shower.

The Drykore Over Trousers MK2 have been tailored for a good fit and the material itself also offers some stretch, so whether you are walking round the lake or just sitting on your bedchair, you will hardly notice you’re wearing them and your movement won’t be restricted.

For that same reason they have an elasticated waistband, but that comes along with a quick release belt so you can get the fit just right, and adjust it depending on what activity you’re doing.

There is little more annoying than putting on all your waterproof gear when you arrive at the lake, only to go to lock your car and realise that your keys are buried in a pocket underneath it all and are now totally inaccessible without taking it all off again. But these over trousers feature a cleaver design with zips on the outside of each leg which go all the way down to the knee and allow access to pockets in whatever you’re wearing underneath.

The Korda Drykore Over Trousers MK2 can be worn with any type of footwear thanks to Velcro ankle straps which allow you to get a good fit, whether wearing wellies, walking boots, trainers, or even just a pair of Crocs! This also means that they are easy to pull on over the top of other clothing, such as joggers, without it riding up your leg.
