High level of protection

There has been no compromise when it comes to protecting your catch, being constructed using a medium density 70mm thick foam pad, that is soft enough to provide plenty of cushioning, and thick enough to protect the fish from impact on the ground if it flaps around.

Beanbag cushion around the edges

The Korda Hybrid Mat also features a cushion of beans around the permitter which prevents even the liveliest of carp from sliding off of the mat, whilst you’re unhooking it and transferring it into a Compac Retainer Sling or Comapc Weigh Sling.

Fish friendly fabric

The outer fabric is a hard wearing fabric which is fish-friendly and has been designed so as to help prevent removal of slime from the carp, with a choice of olive or our signature Dark Kamo pattern.

Hard wearing base

This mat has two sides for it, and for longevity when using it on rougher ground, we have added a 600D base which is very tough, as well as being waterproof, and which is usually found on the bottom of premium luggage. This mat will last you for a long time.

Compact

Despite its size, which is large enough to fit any carp up to 60lb and above – during testing on Monster Carp with was used for several fish over 70lb - with it measuring 125cm x 85cm (with a depth of 14cm), it can still be folded in half and secured via Velcro straps and a central buckle to make it easy to transport on a barrow or in your car.

Perfect for photographs

Whilst it has been designed to keep the carp securely in place on it, the Korda Compac Hybrid Mat is still great for when you want to take a photograph, unlike some other mats/cradles, as it doesn’t have high sides and won’t be in the bottom of your photos.

This also means that you don’t have to lift the fish so high off of the mat, so if it does start to flap around whilst you’re holding it, it’s easy to put it back on the mat for a while to calm down.

For water shots it has the advantage that it floats, so you can float the fish on it to where you want to stand to take your photos, and if it does flap, the construction of the mat makes it very hard for it to get off.
