Spring Bow Landing Net
Spring Bow Landing Net
The Korda Spring Bow Landing Net has been under development for several years now, and has taken a lot of time and effort to get it just right and make it as user-friendly as possible.
Arguably, a landing net is one of the most important items of tackle you use and a very personal choice, as after spending hours trying to hook a carp, it is what separates you from success or failure during the dying seconds of a fight, but isn’t something that most of us even think about, unless we have a problem with one that causes us to lose a fish!
Solving the issues anglers have with landing nets
The most common issues with landing nets include poles that are too heavy and/or not stiff enough and prevent you from lifting the net head quickly when needed; saggy arms or drawcords, which mean that when you do try and lift the net, the spreader block end moves but the front of the net doesn’t quickly enough; or even unreliable spreader blocks that either bust or where the arms become detached at just the wrong moment.
All of this can cost you fish, but the Spring Bow does away with all those issues, and leaves you free to concentrate on, and enjoy, the fight.

Damian Clarke, who designed the Korda Spring Bow Landing Net based on an old brown fibre glass net he had years ago:
“Why do I think this is the best net ever made? Well, it is so responsive, it’s super stiff, superlight, floats on the water – there’s nothing more annoying when you’re trying to net a fish, you let go of the landing net and it sinks, this one just doesn’t do that. Most nets are bending to test curve and this one simply doesn’t do it, it just cuts through the water really easily, it’s just a thing of beauty to use.”
Strong and stiff handle
The 6ft handle is constructed from high grade carbon, which is very strong and stiff, but also has the benefit of being thin-walled and lightweight, and so it is naturally buoyant and means that your net will remain on the surface next to you, without the need for a net float, and won’t slide off into the depths or get caught up in underwater debris whilst you aren’t looking.

Reverse taper
This stiffness is further enhanced by a reverse taper, so that when you lift it there is minimal flex and the spreader block also moves upwards.
A satin finish allows the handle to easily slide through your hands when required, such as when you need to push it out those extra few inches to get the carp fully over the net cord.
It just cuts through the water really easily, it’s just a thing of beauty to use.
Stainless steel spike
A stainless steel spike at the end of the very low diameter pole allows the handle to easily be pushed into the ground, without fear of damaging it, in order to retain fish immediately after landing and giving you a chance to sort out a proper retainer, or your camera gear – without fear of hearing a splash and turning round to see the fish swimming back out of the net, where it hasn't been properly secured!

The spreader block is manufactured by JAG from high-grade aluminium and is incredibly strong, and is finished with a tough gunsmoke ceramic coating which helps prevent chips and scratches, and ensures both the arms sitting inside it properly so it can be easily put together and taken apart. It also features a Spring Bow logo.

Korda Springbow Landing Net comes in a choice of sizes
The net arms come in a choice of 42, 46 or 50-inch lengths to cover everything right up to the largest carp you might encounter in Europe, and easily fit into the spreader block to tension them, and can also be easily removed when you want to pack the net away – no more struggling and worrying you might break something trying to get them apart, which is a common problem with many landing nets!
The arms are also stiff and rigid enough that when you lift the net through the water, the front part of it where the drawcord is will also lift and won’t sag, and it retains a truly lovely shape.

The mesh is just the right depth such that your catch is easily engulfed in it and can be left resting in the net in the margins whilst you get everything sorted out to either retain it properly, or weigh the fish and take some photos, but not too deep that it will get caught up on every bit of debris in the margins.
Medium depth net is just the right size
The mesh itself is of a size that allows the net to freely be manoeuvred through the water, but with holes of a size that minimise potential damage to fish when they are in the net, such as splitting fins – never lift a fish out of the water in the net though, always transfer it to a sling first.
The soft deep dark mesh is just right to prevent a carp jumping free, without being too deep.

Spare arms and meshes
Spare arms and meshes are sold separately and are all interchangeable with the same handle and spreader block, so if you want different size nets for your overseas fishing and UK fishing, all you need to do is purchase a different size of arms and mesh. The removable net arms allow you to replace a damaged mesh.
