Scott Sweetman - The Summer Into Autumn Campaign

Having had a busy year with a change in career (Scott now works directly for Korda), a wedding and a house move, fishing really has been put down the pecking order for Scott, but in typical Scott style, he has made the most of what time he has had available.

By baiting neglected zones, and choosing his nights wisely, often booking leave around favourable weather conditions, he managed to get a spot going, resulting in a run of good fish from a very tricky water.

Fishing just one rod, Scott would drop in on pre-baited areas, where he baited with hemp and Krill usually several days before his sessions, then when he came back to fish a few days later, he could get a rod out with minimal disturbance, rigged up with his favoured IQ2 D Rig.

Over a series of nights, Scott took several good fish, topped by one of the most sought after mirrors in the lake, ‘The German’.

Due to a braid and leadcore ban, Scott switched to 20lb Carp Line and SafeZone leaders on Heli Safes, with 9-inch 20lb IQ2 D Rigs, with size 4 Kamakura Barbless Wide Gapes his pattern of choice, with a white Krill wafter hookbait.

Scott used a small section of silicone down the shank of his hook, used to extend the ‘D’ creating more movement to his hookbait and hook, leading to better hookholds.

Scott yet again, proving the effectiveness of his simple approach, that works for him time and time again. Never being afraid to go against the grain, baiting neglected swims and fishing just the one rod, are prime examples of how Scott approaches his angling.
