How To Tie The Muzza Rig

An extremely effective bottom-bait rig which was developed by Tom Dove, during his time fishing on the Walthamstow Complex. Follow these steps to tie one up for yourself.

You will need:

Kurv Hook

N-Trap Soft

6mm Drill

6mm Cork Stick

Razorblade Scissors

Baiting Needle

Strippa Tool

Step 1

Grab the component you will need to tie this rig

Step 2

Pull off 16 inches of N-Trap Soft and strip back seven inches of coating.

Step 3

Now tie an overhand loop in the end of the unstripped section.

Step 4

Carefully drill 1cm into the centre of an 18mm bait.

Step 5

Insert a cork stick and trim off the stick as indicated.

Step 6

You should be left with a small amount sticking out.

Step 7

Now pierce the bait with a fine gated needle.

Step 8

Thread the bait onto the hair and secured it with a hair stop.

Step 9

Slide a Kurv Shank hook onto your hooklink and position it like this.

Your material should be passed through the back of the eye to the front

Step 10

Make two turns up the shank, knotless knot fashion.

Step 11

Pull the hair away from the shank and continue to 9 turns up the shank, and back through the eye

Step 12

Form a fig.8 loop knot in the end of your coated hooklink material

Step 13

Bed down your knot with some saliva

Step 14

That's the finished rig!

Give it a try over scattered boilies!
