Dave Finn

Dave Finn is a Korda sponsored angler who in 2019, landed a fish known as Scruffy Bob at a lake record weight of 61lb 12oz from Wellington Country Park.

From around the age of 10 years old, he's been a devoted carp angler. His early carp fishing influence and mentor was Redmire and Savay angler Bob Jones, a man who opened Dave's eyes to the world of modern carp fishing. His early fishing started on lakes around the Lea Valley region, before progressing onto waters such as Horton and Elstow.

Wellington Country Park has been the focus of Dave's carp fishing in more recent times. As well as the lake record, he has caught many of the lake's impressive stock, including a fish known as Willow.

Back in 2013, Dave made his first trip to the world-renowned Rainbow Lake in France. During this memorable session, he captured the massive Silver Common weighing 77lbs. He returned to the lake several years later and proceeded to have the session of a lifetime, landing countless large fish to over 70lbs.

Dave used his natural entertaining abilities to full effect during the covid lockdown of 2020, by hosting the Dave Finn Carp Quiz. The Thursday evening quizzes became a must-watch for many carp anglers seeking solitude from the pandemic.

Dave is an obsessive angler whose infectious likeability and passion for the sport can only inspire. As well as telling some highly amusing stories, he also shares some great technical insights that have helped him land countless impressive fish.
