Bobby Zamora, former Premier League striker and England international, joins Simon Pitt on the podcast to discuss all things carp fishing, his footballing career and a behind the scenes insight to what happened when him and Ali Hamidi went fishing on the Amazon River during Korda’s The Big Fish Off series.

In this episode of the podcast, Simon Pitt speaks to Bobby about what it takes to truly make it at the highest-level of professional football. Bobby also shares some juicy stories involving various players from his career including Rio Ferdinand, Steven Gerrard and Mark Noble.

Bobby has enjoyed a profound career, playing football at the highest level. He has scored 152 career goal whilst playing for a wide array of top clubs including Brighton and Hove Albion, Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United, Queens Park Rangers and Fulham.

The pair also discuss in-depth Bobby’s love for carp fishing, as he has been a passionate angler for most of his life. Bobby mainly focuses on catching carp and has caught fish in excess of 40lbs! As well as fishing domestically, he’s also fished around the world at a variety of different venues, fishing for various different species.

Along with his angling, Bobby is currently working within the Legacy Foundation. Legacy are an organisation that is focused towards delivering brand new, high-quality affordable accommodation, schools, sporting facilities and hospital to support the local community.
