06: WHY KAIZEN GREEN EXISTS?
Danny’s dream was to build the ultimate set of carp fishing rods that offered the performance, attributes, and looks that he would choose himself, if he had complete freedom of choice.
He achieved that goal when the Kaizen Platinum range finally came to market after more than four years of development and testing, and rather than just sit back and waste what we had learnt from that, it made sense to incorporate it into a new Kaizen Green range, that has a different market to the flagship models.
Making Platinum performance available to the masses
For Danny, the Green range is all about delivering that Platinum performance to the masses, and in a form that is actually affordable for the average person on the bank who has a family and can’t go out and spend unlimited amounts on their hobby.
He genuinely believes that the Kaizen Green rods will help you to catch more fish, by allowing you to cast to the right spots accurately and consistently, whilst also having a rod that feels lovely to play fish on and won’t cause you to lose them via unnecessary hook pulls, that can occur if a rod is too stiff.
The Green range is almost too good for the money!
If anything, we have actually succeeded in making them far too good for the money, to the extent that many anglers will question the need for the significantly more expensive Platinum range versus the extra performance they would be getting. Especially if they are mainly fishing in fairly typical carp angling situations, rather than trying to push the limits, and even more so where cost is a factor – of course, some people like nice things and will buy the best that is available, but when it comes to value, the Kaizen Green can’t be beaten.
You will even have seen Danny in some of his videos actually telling you to buy the Green rods instead and to spend the money you save on other things, such as more bait which will catch you more carp, and he genuinely believes that to be the case.
Kaizen Green is a popular choice with the Team Korda anglers
A good indicator how good the Green rods are, is the number of Korda anglers who are more than happy to use them in place of the flagship rods altogether in some cases, or will certainly have a set of them for specific circumstances where they need a different length or test curve to what they use the rest of the time.
So, whether you are someone just getting into the sport, or have been doing it for years, you will feel the benefits from using the Kaizen Green.

Offering exceptional performance for the money
In a nutshell, when we designed and built the Platinum range we perfected the action of the rods and got them just right, and have now managed to translate that into a much more affordable version, using a different grade of carbon and fittings, that offers much of what the flagship model does, and in a way where most anglers won’t be able to feel much difference. For more information on the fittings used, including the choice of handle, have a read of Handle design and usability on Green rods.
The best way to decide of course, is to actually go and pick up both ranges of rods and see how they feel, so you can make a final decision about what feels right in your hands, and whether you can justify the cost, and you can do that at your local Korda stockist, which you can find details of on our store finder.
