02: Kaizen Greens vs Kaizen Platinums
The biggest difference between the Platinum and Green ranges under the Kaizen umbrella, and the one that is most immediately obvious is in terms of the price.
As the likes of Danny Fairbrass have stated numerous times in Korda films, you can get a whole set of the Kaizen Green rods for the same price as Kaizen Platinum, and he has even advised that you’d be better off spending the difference on sharper hooks or more/better bait, purely in terms of actually catching more carp.

In terms of the similarities and features that both the Platinum and Green share, given that they use the same technology and design features, the most notable is that both are built using the same type of fast-tapered profile mandrel, giving them a taper that is consistent from butt to tip. This means that all the rods in both ranges have a tippy action, with most of the flex being there, and the rest of the rod only really bending significantly when they come under more extreme pressure, such as during a cast. This also makes them perfect for playing fish as there is plenty of give in the tip to avoid hook pulls, but if you suddenly need to stop a big carp from reaching snags, then you have plenty of power in reserve.
This type of rod action also allows for very fast tip speed and power transfer during the cast, which helps when making a long cast, or even just an accurate one.
As you would expect though there are significant differences as well between the two ranges when it comes to the type of carbon used, as well as the components which are used, such as the guides.
