Oscar Thornton

Oscar Thornton is quickly establishing himself as one of the most well regarded big carp anglers in the southern region. Still in his twenties, Oscar has caught over 30 UK 40lb carp and will no doubt catch many more as time moves on.

Growing up in the Ringwood area, Oscar was surrounded by the carp scene, and still remembers fishing alongside the likes of Gareth Fareham on Roach Pit when he was a teenager.

Oscar is an extremely versatile angler, competing regularly in the match scene as well as targeting more tricker, low stocked pits such as Rockford.

Oscar makes getting the rods out look effortless, accurately casting three rigs on the spot, with inch perfect spotting over the top. He is a seriously carpy chap, with a wealth of carp knowledge for a guy still in his twenties.

He boasts an impressive album of big carp and his mischievous persona makes him one of the most likeable members of Team Korda.

He has a passion for helping others and is a regular tutor at Carp Academy, and in recent years has featured on both Korda Mindset and Thinking Tackle films.
